The little TT that could. Reminds me of when I had the canoe on top of the Mini.

No pics on my phone, but my Dad bought me a $275 1978 Subaru BRAT to learn how to drive in. It spent most of it’s life with me, sideways in a field. I learned car control in that little thing, and had a blast while doing it. I miss it alot.
I actually found it on CL a few months back, and it was crashed :( We sold it to a guy who was going to restore it, guess he never got around to it.

Living in the salt belt sucks...my 93 F150 is starting to go, the frame is good, but the body is getting bad. I’m seriously thinking of just ditching the body and building something like this around a couple seats once it’s no longer a daily driver

Also miss my former C6

I had the chance to buy it back and didn’t like 6 years ago, too. It was BEAT but all the beating was done by me mostly. The picture makes it look nicer than it was. Not a single straight body panel on it but full on auto-x magnificent suspension and 245 series Hankooks. That car was magical.

Yeah it does!
A big hole popped at the bottom of the B-pillar in the driver’s side of the Roady. I didn’t feel comfortable putting my kids in it, after losing some side impact protection.

I don’t know that I’d say I miss my Sonic, but I would love to drive one again for the nostalgia factor. It was a really fun car and served as a turning point for my car enthusiasm, it’ll always hold a special place in my heart.

Hear hear. I miss my mother’s ‘98. The exhaust leaked slightly around one of the bolts that held the headers in, so no matter what we did, it still sounded like it was straight out of the 80s.

89' Honda CRX si. Was black. Had a bunch of issues. When it ran I loved it. When things like the ignition harness, head gasket, starter, and then finally the clutch gave out, she became a parts donor (primarily the glass and interior) for another car.

Just got this little 3 cylinder turbo to replace it. Feels very similar to the old focus.

I want an SC400 so bad.
The damage on the Integra was worse than I thought at first. Core support & apron was pretty jacked up once we got the hood open. The suspension also ended up being out of whack since I’m guessing the shock tower was bent too.

Is that the one with the involuntary track day cool-down feature? (Too soon?) Seems like the standard ‘Vette is better than the Z06 in the current generation.

I plan on doing something like this for my son, and honestly for myself when we move out of town and get some land. Probably a v6 Mustang, or NA Subaru. Something fun but slow.

The vehicles that I’ve sold that I wish I’d hung onto:
Honda S2000, ‘65 Mustang coupe, ‘88 MR2 S/C, Mazdaspeed Protege, Subaru SVX, Peugeot 405 Mi16, Honda Ruckus, Triumph Boneville
The vehicles that I’m mostly glad I got rid of:
The other 15 or so.
For reference, here’s the S2000, in all it’s fiery brake dust glory:

Used Yerf dog go karts. My dad bought my neighbors after they fucked up the governor and started it with WOT. No one was in it and it drove through our fence so we got it for like 100$. Replaced the governor spring and front control arm. Took it to my grandparents land and beat the shit out of it.

Honestly, I would probably opt for the straight 2LT base Corvette. I would like very much to justify the Z51, but I know if I track again it’ll just be fun laps. I was trying to climb the racing ladder before, when I was single and didn’t have kids and had a flexible job, but I think I’m too old for that now. The only things on the Z51 that I’d want would be the trans and diff coolers, mostly for longevity than any other reason, but then I think that having the extra reservoir would just make maintenance more of a hassle than I care for.
Well, I would add the brake coolers anyway. But the Z51 and Z06 have less ground clearance as well, and I’ll be running this thing on snow tires in the winter in Ohio, soo....
Maybe I should reconsider the STi...

I know I will. I will try to consider more sensible options. I will research indefinitely. And in the end, I will return the first car I ever owned. Literally. Granted, that was a matchbox 1979 Corvette my dad gave me shortly after I was born that I carried everywhere I went until i was lost in a move about 10 years later...
But yeah, Corvette life.

I will also consider all the colors that aren’t black. I will look at them, I will see that White and Red look good, and may be more available and cheaper than yellow, but I will, of course, return to yellow, and wait for it. This will happen.

I had. GSR Sedan too, but mine didn’t have the blades, some one had swapped them for Civic Si wheels at some point. The car was a total basket case, and I traded it after 3 months because the seller never gave me the title. I traded it straight up for a 97 Accord EX.

Mine was the lowly base model with an auto, but I still loved it. It handled like a go cart.
Fun story: My stepfather owned an autobody shop where this came in from a tow. He purchased it from the insurance company when they totaled it. A rod went through the side of the block in the accident. He JB Welded a nickle to the block and my sister and I put another 130k on that car.

Wow, that’s a good JB. I had a 1990 Civic hatch for a long time that was just DX model, which at least gave it the 5 speed trans. I loved the way it handled, its light weight and small size. And the first gen CRX was all of that, but better.
